Course objectives

This care support course aims to:

provide the learner with the knowledge, skills and competency to deliver care to a person in a care setting.
develop a better understanding of the requirements and responsibilities of people working in the healthcare industry as care workers.
enable students to develop good evidence based practice in line with legislation promoting respect and dignity at all times.
recognise the need for effective and efficient team work to provide the best possible care for the client.
enhance the communication skills of the carer to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
determine the role and entitlements of the carer.

Qualifications

On successful completion, learners receive a QQI Level 5 Component Certificate in Care Support (5N0758).
