Meet our Tutors
Brendan Guildea
Brendan Guildea, LL.B, LL.M, Barrister-at-Law, Bar of Ireland & Bar of Northern Ireland (NP) has nearly 20 years experience in intellectual property litigation, advice, consultancy and research. After his undergraduate degree in law in Trinity College Dublin, he took a specialised Intellectual Property Master’s Degree from King’s College London. During his legal practice, Brendan advised on and acted as Lead Counsel in copyright, patent and trade mark matters. He joined Enterprise Ireland’s panel of IP experts in 2018, assisting SMEs with IP related queries. Brendan has published a number of peer-reviewed papers, including: ‘The problem of pleadings in AI copyright litigation: lessons from Getty v Stability (UK) and Doe v GitHub (US)’, Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice, Volume 20 (2025) 472–478, https://doi.org/10.1093/jiplp/jpaf022 and ‘Game of thrones: copyright ownership conflicts arising from user-generated content on augmented reality platforms’, Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice 18 (2023) 828-834.

Dip in Computing at ATU in 2024 and is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Cybersecurity through the University of Sunderland. He currently works in house as a legal consultant with Johnson Hana.
