  • A supply chain consist of all the parties involved, directly and indirectly in fulfilling a customer request.
  • First, it introduces key terms and concepts in global supply chain management at the level of an introductory basic for the students.
  • Second, it goes beyond the core to present a few fundamental concepts in considerable depth so that interested and engage the students on their learning for the rest of the module. Process view of supply chain.

Module Details

On completion of this module learners will have been enabled to:

  1. Investigate how the Supply Chain can be a source of competitive advantage for organizations;
  2. Analyse the key drivers of performance in a Supply Chain;
  3. Evaluate the importance of Supply Chain design and its basic components;
  4. Discuss the importance of Global business context and its impact in Supply Chain design and performance.
  5. Evaluate the key skills necessary to make a positive contribution to issues concerning Global Supply Chain Management.
  6. Debate the importance of the co-ordination between core business function and Supply Chain for the successful management of organizations.

Assessment
Percentage

The module will be assessed via a 50% Proctored Written Examination and 50% Continuous Assessment.

Where the combined marks of the assessment and examination do not reach the pass mark the learner will be required to repeat the element of assessment that they failed. Reassessment materials will be published on Moodle after the Examination Board Meeting and will be aligned to the MIMLOs and learners will be capped at 40% unless there are personal mitigating circumstances.
