The International Business Environment module explores the complexities and dynamics of conducting business across global markets. Through case studies and discussions on current global issues, students learn to analyse the risks and opportunities associated with international business operations. This module equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate and succeed in diverse and rapidly changing international markets.

Module Details

Minimum Intended Learning Outcomes (MIMLOS)

On completion of this module learners will have been enabled to:

Evaluate the strategic importance and benefits of internationalising to a business;
Investigate and appraise the factors impacting the internationalising firm;
Research the broader macroenvironmental context as well as the microenvironmental context within which international business operates;
Assess the ethical implications when developing an internationalisation strategy;
Appraise the financial implication of doing business internationally;
Evaluate the drivers of international business.

The module will be assessed via a 50% Proctored Written Examination and 50% Continuous Assessment.

Reassessment Opportunity

Where the combined marks of the assessment and examination do not reach the pass mark the learner will be required to repeat the element of assessment that they failed. Reassessment materials will be published on Moodle after the Examination Board Meeting and will be aligned to the MIMLOs and learners will be capped at 40% unless there are personal mitigating circumstances.
